Book Review - The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain(buy me)

A prodigal son. A dangerous love. Haunted yearning...Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood. Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother. As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul.

My Review
OK guys I'm real sorry for this but it needs to be said 'this book is so freakin brilliant' Id heard so many great reviews around the web and had to order a copy and when I also received a copy for review I was over the moon I mean talk about a sign that this book HAD to be read.
From the moment I turned the first page I knew it wouldn't take me long to indulge in The Dark Divine, weaving through the pages after not reading the 'spoiler reviews' with the question lingering on my tongue 'What is Daniel?' and I was so grateful the mystery continued...when I finally found out, I was hanging on the edge of my beanbag with what would unravel next *sigh* Bree Despain I heart you!
For a debut novel Bree Despain knocked my socks off and hit a high note with my list of favourite Authors. The Dark Divine is engaging with its brilliant plot and faultless mystery keeping you wanting more and more until the very end and although its not a cliff hanger it leaves the option open for a sequel which I'm hoping there is as I'm not ready to let go of the characters just yet. If you haven't already read The Dark Divine then I highly recommend it.
*I will be doing a giveaway for my purchased copy later this week along side an author interview with the awesome Bree Despain herself..... so follow the blog and check back for the details and your chance to win*

  1. I should probably read this one. Sometimes I get a bit blasé about hype surrounding a book - but your review has me actually feeling pumped for it! So cool you have two copies now.

btw, you kinda sold me on your first line :) - so, you know, no need to apologise.

  2. oh wow i love that you love it!cant wait to read it now :)

  3. @ Nomes - honestly im in love with this book, my mom says sometimes for someone who is born and bred british i sure sound like an American hehe i think its all the dudes and the freakin's lol there would have been aot more but when i read it after i think yikes did i write that lol....trust me read it...its so worth the hype

  4. Great review-- I agree- brilliant!

  5. I listened to The Dark Divine on audio book and found it was a pain to get through. It surprised me when I later saw reviews raving about how amazing it was. I think the narrator ruined it for me, so I'm gonna have to pick it up and read it myself.

  6. @chapter chicks - totally i dont think i could listen to a book in Audio unless it had a great narrator i prefer to have paper in hand....i deffinately recon you should try reading it i think you will be suprised xx

  7. Awesome review & I totally agree with you! That's how I was feeling while I was reading it! Definitely one of my favorite reads this year!

  8. Brilliant is exactly how I feel about this one. I just love it!

Hey guys...feel free to leave a little love
