Where We Read - Saundra Mitchell(Author of Shadowed Summer)

Hey blog world,
So its that time of week again for Where We Read and this week we have been joined by the beautiful and talented Author of Shadowed Summer - Saundra Mitchell

Can you tell is a little about yourself?

My name is Saundra Mitchell; I'm a screenwriter and YA author. My first novel was a southern gothic ghost story called SHADOWED SUMMER. My second novel is a historical paranormal romance called THE VESPERTINE- it comes out in March 2011. I love YA, cooking weird stuff, exploring history, and playing in Photoshop.

Where is your favorite reading spot?

My family and I live with my parents, so there's not a lot of room to lounge. I do almost all of my reading at my desk, where I also do my writing. You can kind of see behind me a bit- that's my bed behind me, and to my right, where you can't see it, is my telly. My whole life is pretty much in my bedroom!

What do you like to read there?
YA and middle grade fiction; manga, graphic novels, Metafilter, Publisher's Weekly, the back of my Coke Zero cans, contracts, e-mail, secret notes, Twitter...

Can you show us your book shelves?

Okay, these aren't actually my shelves. These are Aprilynne Pike's shelves. Like I said, my whole life is kind of crammed into one bedroom, and I don't have room for awesome shelves. I have all my books in BOXES, stacked upon BOXES, stacked upon BOXES. But one day, I hope to have Aprilynne's shelves, because THEY! ARE! AWESOME!

Can you tell us your top 5 books so we can enjoy them in our spots.

My top five books EVER or today? Dang, that's hard. My top five books forever are
THE OUTSIDERS by S.E. Hinton,
IT by Stephen King,
THE SILVER KISS by Annette Curtis Klause,
BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA by Katherine Patterson,
and whatever I'm reading at the moment. I'm flexible like that!!

Thank you for having me!!
Saundra

Don't you think Saundra is the best, shes witty with a great sense of humor......thank you Saundra for taking part.

Happy Monday
